Kalilangan, Bukidnon– The Kalilangan New Public Market was finally turned over to its project recipient, the Municipality of Kalilangan represented by its Local Chief Executive, Atty. Raymon Charl O. Gamboa and the Sangguniang Bayan members.
The completion of the said project came possible through the initiative of the local administration and the support of the provincial and national government with the guidance of former Provincial Governor, Jose Maria Zubiri Jr. and former Senator, TG Guingona. Both entities shouldered the 1st and 2nd phase of the project that includes the project’s land preparation. Moreover, the Local Government Support Fund – Financial Assistance to LGU (LGSF-FALGU) of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) – one of the government funds that helped the municipality in delivering quality services, catered the final phase of the construction.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of the DILG Provincial Director, Rhona Perdaza-Abadilla represented by the Municipal Local Government Operations Officer Loriezza Q. Siao and Engr. Roberto Romeo Garcia of the DILG Province-Project Monitoring Unit. Also present on the said event were municipal councilors, Hon. Loido L. Padsing and Hon. Wildred Ramas; former municipal mayors, Simeon Vicerra and Wilfredo Bajao; Public Market Administrator Franco Joseph Fortunado, municipal office heads, stall owners and the project contractor, STPK Construction Services.
With this project, the LGU assures that Kalilangan and its neighboring municipalities will have an adequate and clean avenue for trading of goods and services that is within their reach. It is scheduled that the soft opening of the new public market will be on the 8th of February this year.
